Repair is necessary for evry printer.I Had resolve my Printer error.just got this error on my MP830 (purchased two days ago). I was feeding card stock through the auto sheet feeder. A sheet was pulled into the printer about half way when the error came up - five flashes of the "alarm" light and error 5700. I turned the printer off, pulled the sheet of paper out (it came out with little pressure), turned the printer back on and started my print job again. It's working fine now. So the error doesn't necessarily mean the printer is dead or in need of serious repair. :-) I think this will help you lot.
